About Le Coq
Le Coq is part of the oldest wooden houses in Zaandam, built between 1640 and 1860. The property is located along the idyllic Hanenpad, a former canal path rich in history, where fishmongers, craftsmen and carpenters once lived and worked.
Today, it is a unique place to come together with your team, friends or family. On the grounds, you can feel the history in every detail, from the wooden cladding to the characteristic arched windows and authentic bedstead features. Le Coq Blue is the only building that has been fully renovated and excellently insulated, while preserving its original character.

How to reach Le Coq
Le Coq is located just ten minutes by car from the Amsterdam ring road. There are two parking spaces on site, and free parking is also available in the immediate area.
Please note: the Hanenpad is a narrow, dead-end street. Parking on Walvisvaardersstraat by the water is the easiest option. From there, it is a short walk across the small lock, and you are almost there. Click here for the coordinates.
Travelling by public transport?
- From Zaandam railway station, it is a beautiful walk along the water and the Zuiddijk, lined with characteristic historic houses.
- It's only a short ride by bus:
– Line 391 from Amsterdam Central Station
– Line 111 from Amsterdam Noord metro station
Both stop at Morgensterstraat, just a few minutes’ walk from the door.
